This reminds me of this children's book I recall, about a king who wouldn't get out of his bath tub. 
His entire court tried to convince him there were things you just couldn't do while taking a bath.
But for reasons I can't recall, he managed to turn the tables on them and invited them to try them in the bath.
Finally, you have one small boy (a squire or perhaps a young servant) who had the simplest, but most effective solution:

Pull the plug.

The rest is history. 

Your art is like a variation of that book, at least because of the water theme.
